Here you’ll find some gear reviews as well. Where I differ from the “review establishment” is a general indifference for typical specifications and comparisons. The typical gear review is influenced by consumerism, encourages the reader to spend more money, and is only satisfied until something new comes out. I operate on the concept that certain cameras, lenses and other imaging tools have a character of their own, and when I find something that works well for me, it earns my enthusiastic trust, even if it’s imperfect. When I “review” something, it’s a highly subjective evaluation. No two photographers have the same process, so every tool works differently for everyone. That’s part of the fun!
